Community Involvement

Aligned with our mission statement, “we improve lives,” we fundamentally believe in the sentiment of contributing to causes greater than ourselves. Our mission to improve lives extends far beyond our clients, and we demonstrate this passion by devoting ourselves to actively and continuously working to improve the lives of our team, their families and our broader community.

We believe that giving back, supporting those in need, and giving to those who need a hand up in life truly brings meaning to our careers, to our clients’ lives, and to the community. Our team is anchored to this common “why” because it inspires us and connects us to push forward and encourage positive change. Through service, we truly believe that we can deepen our relationships and achieve a brighter world.

Supporting The Communities We Work In

Abbott Wealth Management has been involved with Power Start for 5+ years. Once a week Abbott Team Members volunteer with this community program at BGC Kamloops (formerly Boys and Girls Club of Kamloops) to help prepare and serve a nutritious breakfast to children in our community. This program addresses food insecurity among children in Kamloops, helping to ensure children have access to the most important meal of the day and are able to go to school in the morning ready to learn.

Abbott Wealth Management is committed to supporting the RIH Foundation as they seek to raise funds to support life-saving equipment and patient-centred care at our local hospital. We have sponsored both the RIH Radiothon and the SCT&I Charity Golf Tournament in support of the RIH Foundation.

Abbott Wealth Management has been involved in supporting the Kamloops Foodbank for 25+ years. Supporting campaigns such as Basics for Babies which supplies basic needs for infants and their caregivers in our community, and the Starfish Backpack program which ensures school-aged children have enough to eat for weekends.

Mark Bertoli has been actively involved with Rotary International. He is the past President of Kamloops West Rotary and served six years on the Board of Directors. Mark was the first major donor to the Rotary Foundation in Kamloops history. He also has received the District Service Award for his work with the Rotary Foundation. Mark was awarded the Presidential Citation from Rotary International for his work as President.

Abbott Wealth Management supports Thompson Rivers University in a variety of ways, from supporting the TRU Wolfpack Limitless campaign, to engaging with students in the Bob Galardi School of Economics and Business at the annual TRU Finance Night and Career Days. Abbott Wealth Management values our ongoing partnership with TRU and its students.

Abbott Wealth Management is the local organizer of the Kamloops Shoebox Project, an initiative to provide gifts to local women impacted by homelessness. Shoeboxes are filled with essentials like socks, underwear, and hygiene items, plus other pampering goodies like gift cards, soaps, and bath products, a blessing to the women in the Kamloops community for which this might be the only gift they receive during the holidays.
